Get Well

One of the co-owners of A2Z Scrapbooking, Linda, has been ill lately, having suffered a heart attack last week.  So I've made a card for her to help cheer her up.

I used some new goodies...a Penny Black Stamp and a Darice embossing folder.

I was pleased to see the stamp fitted perfectly within the embossed oval.  I coloured her with a mixture of Copics and Zig markers.   The get well sentiment is from Hero Arts and the rest from Penny Black.  Finished with a few flat sequins.

Thanks for visiting

Baby Pram card

I'm back from Perth and already missing my little man..... just look at today's photos

Isn't that the cutest ever.

Squirming around... in his big boy clothes!

Here is the card I made for them.

I die cut the cute baby pram (Couture Creations) from some blue card and did embossing as well.  I trimmed some darker teal card for the top of the pram.  Added some sentiments I had in my stash. The stars are a die cut as well.  The grass is washi tape.

I  am now looking forward to spending some time playing with all the goodies I got while over in Perth.  Managed to meet with Kim and go to the Quilt and Craft Fair and had a bit of a spend up.

Enjoy your week... hope my American friends are enjoying their Memorial Day celebrations.

Girl and Blue Birds

Today is my turn to share my card at Die Cut Divas.  Our sponsor is A Day for Daises and I used this image for my card today.  Our theme this month is inspired by a photo from our very own team member Carol... of buttons

I used Copic markers to colour my image.  I tried the using some pointillism around the image to highlight  the image.  I added a little red button to the back of her dress.  I trimmed the image with a MFT rounded rectangle.  The lacy piece is a die cut from Couture Creations.  It is extremely intricate and did take a few times to get a good cut.

We would love to have you join us at Die Cut Divas with however the photo inspires you... maybe the buttons, may be the colours... just as long as you let us know what inspired you.

CAS Orchid by Hero Arts

I'm here to share my CAS card over at A2Z Scarpbooking.  Our challenge this month is CAS.   I have used some patterned paper but still think it is CAS enough.

Hello Orchid
I started by stamping the orchid from CL 946 Color Layering Orchid in a Pot.  I used a Spellbinders edge die to cut the white panel and layered it over the PP.  I paired my orchid with a sentiment and a die cut from DC151 Hello Stamp and Die set.  I used some red shiny card to cut the hello.

Remember if you are in need of any items from the a2z Scrapbooking store  you can use code Dawn15 at checkout to receive 15% off your purchase of $25 or more. And today is my daughter's 30th birthday.  I can not believe where the time has gone... and now she's a mother herself.

Opalite Inks ...

I went to a craft fair over the weekend and found some Opalite inks.   I am sure that they are no longer available.  But it was fun to try out these.  They are interference inks.... they look white/clear on the pad but when added to black card - wow they are amazing... I got the pads in kits... there was card and embellishments and instructions for making two cards.  Here are the first two cards from the kit

This first one used a Hero Arts background stamp that I inked up with three of the Opalite inks and stamped onto the black glossy card.  I then smeared the inks onto the die cut glossy card and spritzed with water to blend the inks

The second one used the glossy card and a Penny Black stamp inked with two of the inks... plus some black paper that was scrunched and then the inks were smeared all over it.  Fabulous in real life but a bitch to photograph!

I have two more cards in the second kit still to make.  So many ideas running around my in my head with my Stamp Nation kit having arrived... made two so far... and a new Altenew set waiting to be inked up... and so little time before I head over to Perth to see the family.

Enjoy your day.

April CCC reveal

It's time to reveal that cards that have been send for April's CCC.  See them all Here at Deborah's blog.  We had several options - a colour combo, a sketch, or one of these themes Cinco de Mayo  or  Cats  or  Friendship.    I chose to use the Cats theme together with a variation on the sketch.

I send my card to Christi in Colorado.

I started by embossing some grey paper (cut from an envelope) with a folder. I had the cut circle and just sponged with yellow inks.  The cats are die cuts (one black and one white) that my friend Monika from Germany had sent me.  I layered them up off setting a tad.  Added a little gem to the girl cat. The sentiment is a die cut from Hero Arts and the rest is from Altenew's Label Love.

Adding to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge - Anything Goes.

Thanks for visiting today.  I appreciate  all of my visitors.

Flowers in my Garden

It's the 1st so a new challenge over at Die Cut Divas.  We have a photo challenge for you

Our sponsor is A Day for Daisies

I chose to use Flowers in My Garden

Isn't she adorable.  I loved the results I got with this one.  I cut the Kasiercraft die with some pale green textured card.  I trimmed the focal panel to fit inside the die cut.  I used Copics to colour and distress inks for he background.  I pulled out some flowers and added the heart button to the middle with a little twine tie.   My background paper is from a Couture Creations pack.   As I've added a Flower to my card I am entering into the latest Challenge at "Crafting When We Can"
Also entering into the Simon Says Stamp Wed challenge (Anything Goes)

And here are some photos from my garden today.

A beautiful day for May 1st.  Hubby even managed to go for a swim (too cold for me) It did cloud up a bit in the late afternoon.

And to finish here's a little photo of Archer taken at a professional baby shot yesterday

Talk about being relaxed

Thanks for stopping by, hope you have a great day.
