More Vintage Christmas

I've been making a few vintage Christmas cards using this La Blanche stamp.

Vintage Christmas

This one has lots of distressing and just a pop of colour with the Holly and the die cut Poinsettia. I dry embossed the base card.

Season's Greetings

I stamped this onto some Kraft cardstock with  Wet Cement Hero Arts ink.  I coloured the holly and Santa with colouring pencils and Gamsol.  Tore all around it and edged with Walnut Stain ink.  I stamped the Kaisercraft sentiment with Archival Coffee ink... Noticed it's a bit crooked.  Finished with a flower and mounted the panel onto a card base stamped with Hero Arts Wood grain background in Olive distress ink.

Peace Love & Joy

I stamped this onto some dark cream card stock with Versamark Sahara Sand, making sure that I didn't stamp the Holly.  I trimmed the piece with some decorative scissors and distressed with Tea Dye distress ink.  I stamped part of a Hero Arts sentiment stamp along the top.  Added some lace and a flourish and red flower.  The PP on the card base is from a Kaisercraft pack.

I'm taking it with me tomorrow so there will be more to share next week.

Have a great weekend

Holly Hobbie Easel Card

Over at City Crafter Challenge this week's challenge is a Christmas Easel Card.  I had a thought in mind when I saw the challenge but today when I picked up my Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine I saw the free stamps and papers were Holly Hobbie.  Do you remember when she was all the rage?  I do!  So I just had to make a card with it.

I stamped Holly onto white card and coloured with Copics.  I then cut her out with a Spellbinders die.  I made the poinsettia with Spellbinder die which I embossed with an M-bossibilty folder.  I painted the leaves with Iridescence medium.  I finished them off with some punched leaves.

I really pleased how it turned out.

I'm watching "Mrs Brown's Boys" while typing this and laughing so much.  What a funny programme.  This episode is the one where Maria goes into labour.  Very humorous.

Nearly the weekend, and I'm going to Lei's house to stamp with the girls.... Will be a fun day then off to hubby's Christmas function.

See you soon

Alcohol ink and foil.........

A great combination!  Over at Our Creative Corner last week that was Sue's challenge.... and guess what!  I made the Top Talent.   Very exciting.  So here is the card I made

Vintage Santa

I found a silver foil doily in my stash and got out my alcohol inks.  I used a purple, a blue and a green mixture and coloured the doily. I chose a purplish card for my background and embossed it with a Spellbinders M-bossiblities folder.  The Santa is on a La Blanche stamp.  I just inked up Santa and punched him out.  Edged with my 2.5mm gold Calligraphy pen as I did around the sentiment.  This worked well as I hand cut around the stamp.  I matted it onto the some brown dotted PP and then onto a cream card base.   I was really pleased with the result.    And to win was even better!  Thanks Sue.

Thanks everyone for visiting.  Hope I have inspired you to pull out your alcohol inks and give them an outing!

ABC challenge

That's A for Angel, B for Button and C for Chipboard.... a challenge over at Our Creative Corner.   I have a few angel stamps and digis, but decided to use a Penny Black stamp I got last year.  It is a very elegant Angel.

ABC ~ Angel, Button, Chipboard

I cut a white tag using a Tim Holtz die and then white embossed my angel.  Next was a mixture of distress inks to do a resist technique.  Next I used a variety of other stamps to overstamp... a Hero Arts envelope background and a musical stamp.   I had a scrap of the brown which I had white embossed the sentiment.  I added with a ribbon, some silver foil punched snowflakes and gems.  Then went through the few chipboard piece I have and found some Christmas ones I won several years ago from Jennifer McGuire.  Found a perfect piece and added then finished with an antique button on the top of the tag.    I got a nice surprise when I added this picture to the Penny Black group on Flickr.... Penny Black are going to send me a surprise... how cool is that!

And while I was searching through the chipboard pieces I found a little antique angel so decided to make another card.

ABC Challenge ~ Take 2

I used a little Spellbinders die and stamped the snowflakes with a Hero Arts Snowflake cling with Soft Pool ink, added some torn Penny Black PP in the white and some glitter.  Added the Sentiment in  Stone Wash ink  Faux stitching with done with a fine blue pen. I stamped one of the smaller snowflakes in the Stone Wash and glued it behind a clear button.  I then added my little angel. I used the gold version of the music PP for the background and stitched with cream crochet cotton and distressed the edges.

I enjoyed making these for the challenge of OCC.

Mygrafico Feature ~ Vintage Christmas Take 2

At Mygrafico this week I used the same set as last time.  It is a lovely set to work with.

Vintage Christmas Labels

I decided to make a gift package for some hand cream.

I combined two of the images to make a frame. I really like how I can manipulate the images in Word. Not only can you resize but your can combine different images to make a new one.   Once I printed it out, coloured with Copics I die cut with a Spellbinders die, but didn't quite get it in exactly the right spot, so cover it by edging the panel with some gold pen.  I added a little sentiment die cut I found in the tidy up and made a belly bank to hold the package closed. I added some liquid pearls around the circle.  I found the instruction for making this package here but some of her measurements were out so I converted them to centimetres and made my own template.   If you are interested let me know, I can send you the measurements.

Do pop over to Mygrafico and see what the other's have come up with.  And check out our challenge ~ would love to see you joining in.

Black and White @ Red Carpet Studio

It's time for another card challenge over at Red Carpet Studio.  And the theme this week is Black and White.  I love the monochromatic look of Black and White so this was a fun challenge for me.

Black and White

I was inspired by a card from Lin.  I stamped the Leaf and Floral background with Versafine Onyx Black (definitely need a reinker here!)   and layered it onto the base card, adding some stripes of black card.  I stamped the sentiment with   Archival Jet Black, mounting onto black card.  The rolled rose is a MFT Die-namcis die.  Leaves from a Sizzix mini die.

Pop over to the blog and see what the rest of the team came up with.  And join us with your black and white cards.  And don't forget that we are looking for some guest designers.

I am please to say that our drain issues have resolved themselves without hubby having to crawl under the house and without having to get a plumber in!

Hope your weekend is going well.... I've got most of the craft space tidied at last... just need to sort out my paper stash.  I tend to collect freebie papers from magazines and buy 6 x 6 pads and then not use them!

Fairy Holly

Hi there.... it's been a busy week with not a lot of crafting going on.... I did manage to colour some images while watching TV this week and after getting an envelope of beautiful punch pieces from Loly I put together a quick card.

Fairy Holly

This is a Mo's image that I colour with Copics and fussy cut.  I stamped the sentiment onto the punched panel and layered it onto the green card.  Added Fairy Holly.

We've been trying to deal with a blocked drain this week.  Wednesday morning the shower and hand basin in our ensuite wouldn't drain.   Tried a plunger... no avail, Draino cyrstals.... no avail, one bottle of Draino gel ....no avail.   Next day 2 bottles of Draino Gel ... still no joy.  At $12.95 a bottle, it's starting to get expensive.  Luckily we have another shower upstairs.  Hubby is going to crawl under the house and hopefully find a waste trap and use the hose to try and clear the drain.... otherwise it's a plumber that will be needed.  Frustrating to say the least.

Going to be doing some more decluttering and tidying this weekend.  And maybe doing a few cards as well!  Enjoy your weekend
